Cool Inside out vinyl

I recently purchased a record by Mars... one side plays from the INSIDE OUT! The other side plays regular. Has anyone else ever found a record like this? Is this a factory error or was the producer doing this on purpose to be original?

Only one of my turntables can play this from inside out without the needle skipping. Any advice on spinning this cuz the track is awesome? I think the chance of it skipping from any small vibrations increases cuz the tone arm naturally wants to go towards the middle of the record.

got one...

Yea... I thought I found the only record like that too, but apparently now not....

I got this one..
Kenji Ogura ft. Melanie Di Tria - Kreissage 2 (tracid mix, robert natus hard mix) [discomania]

and it plays both sides A and B from the inside to out. It was really weird. I previewed it at the store and the needle stayed on the outside for like 4 minutes straight, and I thought.... wtf???!!!

then I noticed the 2cm gap fro mthe outside to the grooves.

I moves the needle back to the inside and let it go.... voila...it worked.
The track is awesome too.... I guess this might be a new trend

Yeah this is something new to me
Doesn't the needle have a tendency to be pulled to the centre..called skating, isn't it.

Well... when I previewed the record at the record store... the weight was to heavy on the needle, so it sank to the first groove from the outside.

When I played it at home on my 1210s, I just took off a notch of anti-skate...and it plays fine
I'll see about getting a picture up if you guys are really eagerly confused.

There is nothing wrong with your record, it's made on purpose. It just has been pressed with a reverse groove. There are quite some records like that.

What is even more rare though, are records that have parallel grooves (if you can call it like that with spirals). If you put the needle into one groove, you get song 1, if you put it in the other, you get a different song.

But yes it's done on purpose.

i've got a scratch battle record that has a bunch of "locked grooves" like that with samples that just keep looping and looping.

but backwards is just retarded.

Cool

I don't mind mixing with it as long as it doesn't mess up my needle, however I kind of doubt that if they do this on purpose.

Kai Tracid - Conscious [Tracid Traxx] that also does it.

seems like they do this on purpose since the other kenji trak someone mentioned also does it.

u can still spin w/ it, altho it is kind of confusing and just plain odd.
