Read This! ???The Future of Trance???

What do you guys think will be the future of trance. by this i mean, will it stick around forever (like rock) or will it disappear in the next 10 years (like disco). I love this music, and i hope it never fades out, but if you look back in history (at least in North America), about every decade or so music seems to change.
what do you ta's think?

Well, electronic music will probably always exist, but the specific genre of trance may change.

It will evolve. So there will b many different kinds. Like there is at the moment. But i love it to. And the fact that trance can recycle old tunes, in remixes. Or use old pop tunes, and remix them. Sweat dream is my example. Then it will b around. Just maybe in a different form. Anyway in 10 years time we r supposed to have moved on, Bahh sod that. I love trance, and will always love it

Trance has already changed a lot over the last few years. I'm pretty sure it'll last. It'll change like house music has over the last 20 years, but the sound will keep on living... [Remember classical music has lasted for hundreds of years]

Also, we probably will have some different names for it, Schranz and some other techno influenced genre that I can't remember the name of has just started in the last year, so who knows?

And BTW, if you listen to early house (1978-84) you'll realize that disco didn't exactly die, it sorta evolved into house.

Yeah and I've always thought that Trance especially has a lot in common with classical (the peaks and breakdowns etc..) It's structured in a similar way and produces many of the same emotions.

Which I guess is part of the reason many trance tracks are based around classical scores/samples. Wouldn't it be great though if in 100 years time tracks like Cafe Del mar will still be considered classics....

I know it's un-related, but...
I have absolutely no idea why everyone here is so crazy about this tune, Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar. To me it sounds average, in fact a little below average.

I pretty much think it'll stay. (regardless my feelings to the matter) It'll evolve (like everything should), but it'll hang around. Espec. if more and more will discover it's power and will understand it...lol

it'll stay and evolve into bigger and better synths, riffs, and bass, then it will return to be uplifting, happy, and better. it will take over the world i tell you!!! everyone will dance to this 'uplifting trance music'. im telling you trance will become hugeeeeeeeee. no matter whether you like it or not.

my guess is that all the different types of trance will get deeper and eventually merge into one big genre of progressive heaven
