i would say that people who like rap are probably like people who like trance, some are cool and some are asses. alot of it has to do with maturity too, if youre 16 and think just because you like rap you cant listen to trance cause someone told you its pussy music, then youll probably act all gangster. but a lot of people do it with trance too, they decide its so much "better" then everything else and run down other genres and even on boards like this, each other. this is kind of what lead me to make this poll

Rap vs. Trance
Before I recently got into trance I was a giant rap fan. I still like it a lot, I actually think it's funny that people contrast the two genres -- I think they have a ton in common. I think rap pushed me towards trance, I love hearing the awesome beats and effects and production, so the next step for electronically-produced music was trance. Even though I've pretty much bumped "gangsta" rap from my playlists (still some softer hiphop on there), I still need it for the gym... trance relaxes me and makes me too happy, I need the aggressive angry gangsta beatz.
