Tweaking new setup

I just got a Technics SL1200MK2 and pioneer DJM-300.. i'm trying to tweak the tonearm balance and stylus pressures to get better quality... My problem is that I'll get skips on records that aren't scratched up. Can this be because of the weights? Has anybody run into this problem when they first started? My cartridge is Ortofon Concorde Pro S and my stylus pressure is at 3.8 and anti-skating is 3.

Many thanks.
