what happened to PvD?

k..as far as I know, nobody else has commented on the HORRIBLE mix he did on the Radio One Dance Party about 17:50 in. That is by far, the WORST mix Ive ever heard out of any DJ. Christ, I can do that in my basement. While I hate to hear such a horrible noise, at the same time I love to hear it from PvD, shows me that he is still human, can still make mistakes etc.

or am I on crack?...it doesnt sound like a glitch in the recording, it sounds like a bad mix. is it?

Yeah it was so bad I thought it was just a messed up part of the mp3. It sounds like it's going smooth for a second and then damn some nasty stuff and then a quick transition to the other track. Funny if it is a screw up...just goes to show he's actually human!!!

sometimes when you have CD or vinyl with scratches or
your cd player/deck is bad or
some event occur that makes your player skips(like very loud BASS) -
this skiping happens.
when this is in the middle of the track this is not so big problem. but when this is in the middle of transition between two tracks this is very bad. DJ cannot continue to mix because of the desynchonization of the two tracks BPM. it seems that PVD know this very well and once he heard this glitch he quickly completed the mix.

is our case i hear:

1st - in the begining of the transition - single skip.
desynchonization of the beats immediately occurs!
2nd - "and then a quick transition to the other track"

for me this just shows the mastership of PVD.
maybe his mistake is that he pushed the deck a little or something similar but 100% his mistake is not in the mix!

I think his hand probably hit the crossfader on the way from putting a new vinyl on the deck. The sound is very sudden, so that's what i'm thinking.

i dont think this is the case, he didnt have enough time to put another vinyl on the deck and drop the cart down..

i bet imperia is right, that's a good idea

cuz if you listen closely, the mix is good for like half a second, he was about to drop "out there" out

and then i guess its a skip in his columbia EP, he should complaing to the producer that the factory pressing sucks!

BUT ive heard pvd fuck up / crossfade mixes many times before, he is really not a great technical dj. id say kinda like tiesto but i might be wrong (cuz ive never heard tiesto trainwreck, but also pvd's cueing might be superior)

See..I have yet to hear PvD fuck up...so thats why its soo interesting to me.

See, to me it doesnt sound like a skip...sounds more like a scratchy noise..so my guess it that something hit the deck/tonearm and made it fly..he realised this and got out of the mix right away.
