Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, 'G-Funk' style whine - possibly a moog?

I know this isnt related to trance, but how do I reproduce the really high pitched 'whine' style noise on a lot of the old gangster rap tunes? I dont have any specific track examples as rap really isnt my style of music, this is a request on behalf of my little brother
