120 bpm trance music

Trance music is usely written with a 132 to 150. Why not 120 bpm?? I really like the groove of 120 bpm, it sounds so natural for me to dance on.

120 bpm is just to slow for most trance music. When building up to climaxes, the bassline just rolls much better when on 135-140 bpm. You just get more excited.

I do agree that sometimes people are playing too fast and should pitch the slider way down. Especially in the beginning of the night, 120-125 bpm should be more than enough.

I believe the average heartrate when dancing is typically around 133 bpm...that might be why.

I think actually a research was conducted on this, and they found out the "ideal" (well it stays subjective for the most part so, ideal is not really the ideal word ) BPM is 138.

Seems that that BPM can keep most of the crowd dancing the whole night. Faster and they'll get tired, slower and some people won't get the urge to dance.

Again, it's mostly a subjective test. Everyone probably has another favorite BPM, but the result said 138 BPM was the best average.

i was just messin around with my newest song at 120 bpm and it doesnt sound that bad.
check the sample

yout track sounds like it would be quite cool... at 138BPM. 120 is just too slow, I can't move to it at that speed.

120 bpm really would be more chilled than normal trance.

it could still sound similar to trance, but it would be more of a chillout track, IMO.
