Hey guys, I've never been to Miami before and now I am seriously planning on heading down to the WMC and I have a number of questions regarding the event and the city itself.
Now I know that there are quite a few other threads discussing various aspects of the WMC, and I have spent a lot of time using the search button and wading through lots of pages that didn't have the exact information I was looking for. Therefore I was hoping you could help me out. In addition, I think my questions might be on the minds of other people, and so it would just be a good idea to get the info out here in one place.
1. Is it worth registering for the actual WMC? (I'd really like to hear from someone who has done this in past years)
2. Is it worth staying in the hotel that the WMC is taking place in, The Wyndham Resort?
3. It sounds like Space always has a huge lineup for the WMC week. Is Space 18+ or 21+ ? I'm 20. I assume it's 18+ mostly because from reading these boards Arturo seems to go there a lot and from reading the birthday thread he apparently just turned 21.
4. What other clubs, if any, are worth going to in Miami? (I'm open to all types of dance music, but ideally the club would be 18 or 19+)
5. What is the best way to get around Miami? Bus? Subway? Taxi? Other?
OK, thank you so much for anyone who can provide me with information. I really owe you one. I hope to see some of you down there!
However, I'm pretty concerned now about going to the WMC then, since it seems as though I'd be able to go to the Ultra Festival on Saturday, but then I'd have a hard time getting into any of the other events/clubs.
That's pretty frustrating that the clubs are 21+. I'm not really the fake ID type, so I might have to reconsider what I'm doing.

It is unfortunate that all the clubs in Miami are 21 and up.. but the lineup for ULTRA is ridiculous and is ENOUGH to go down for in my opinion.. and that you will be able to get into
Good luck with whatever you decide!

mmmm i hear most of the miami clubs are 21+... and they very strict on ID... its pointless to go if you're not 21+ in my opinion; i mean; you'll miss out on so much! wait a few years and we go together

Well I agree with RachUCF1001 too. This will be my 4th year in a row attending Ultra. The first 2 times I went (Ultra 3 & 4) I wasn't 21 yet and I went down there just for Ultra, and to me, it was definatly worth going to Miami just for this one party. I still feel this way too (Like if there was no WMC or something and only Ultra, I'd still just go down there only for that, reguarless of my age, it's worth it that much to me)
But yea being 21 for WmC is great, believe me I used to feel the same way about not being 21 and not being able to goto anyother parties when I was down there and shit.
So I guess it depends of what kind of person you are mostly, but in my opinion (I know a lot of others probably disagree with me) but I think it's definaly worth going down there just for Ultra

I gotta agree with Freeza on this. Ultra is worth the price of the trip, besides being a huge headlined party, you're in Miami! I measure my life by the experiences I've had, and Ultra in Miami ranks right up there.
There are always pool parties at the hotel, and of course the women of South Beach. So there are still reasons to head to Miami, if not just for Ultra, for the memories you can make while you're down there.
See you all in 48 days!!

flying to FLL is -most of the time- cheap. it is about 25 miles away (30-40 mins drive) from downtown miami / south beach. the best ways to get down there would be either a cab ride, or someone who can pick you up.

like $40-$50. its like $1.70 for the first mile and then $0.20 each addt'l 1/11 mile.
I flew into FT. Lauderdale a couple years ago and I remember taking a "Shuddle Bus/Van" to my Hotel. I'm pretty sure it was around $25-30 or something but I could be wrong. Call the Airport and ask about that if your interested.
