Rave in French Hospital

PARIS — Some 350 youths took over a staff get-together at a Paris psychiatric hospital, turning it into a "rave party" with thumping dance music blaring as patients slept nearby, a hospital official said.
The Sainte-Anne Hospital filed a complaint Monday against the party-crashers, although it will require a police investigation to determine who they were, Gerard Foure, the hospital's assistant director, said.
The outsiders descended on one of the hospital's cafeterias where some 30 interns had gathered for a small party Saturday night.
"We think one of our interns told someone there was a party," Foure added. He praised hospital security officers for closing the gates before more people arrived.
Rave parties have become such a phenomenon in France that newspapers regularly send reporters to cover the round-the-clock bashes that feature drugs and loud techno music. The newspaper Liberation, which quoted people who attended Saturday's party, classified it as a "mini-rave" party.
Liberation, in its Monday edition, said a ticket-taker charged a $4 at the door.
Foure said he could not confirm whether drugs were being sold at the party. He said youths were informed of the event via last-minute e-mails.
The party ended without incident and no hospital property was damaged, he said.
The typical French rave party is an outdoor affair that can lure thousands of people. They are usually assembled quickly, making the parties difficult for authorities to prevent. One party earlier this month drew 30,000 youths to an open field in the western Brittany region.
I love the tone of this article; the way they can't use the word 'rave' without using speech-marks. And describing raves as "round-the-clock bashes that feature drugs and loud techno music". I can just imagine the planning;
"OK lads, we're going to have a party"
"Hurrah"
"But you should know it's not going to be just any party. This time we're going to have a Rave Party"
