i do not agree with the way this was conducted for one massively important reason.
Gov won by only 5 votes. It is very very likely they rallied scottish MPs to vote on their side. However, Engish MPs are not allowed ever to vote on Scottish matters. This is a fucking mess coz something that will never affect scottish students has been voted for by scottish politicians. fuck the whole system!

Hopefully this won't end up affecting the amount of the old proletariat going to uni

Known as the West-Lothian issue, or something like that.
Still, on top up fees – Yes Uni’s need more money but it shouldn’t mean the students have to pay for it – it should come from the government coffers. By the time we are our parents age, if this trend continues, the educations system will be 100% privatised. Not a good thing at all.

It has not been passed yet. There has to be a 2nd reading and it has to be agreed on by the house of lords, which is looking doubtful atm.

Agreed, they go because everyone else is going (i think i was the only person in my college class that didn't go) so they can get pissed all the time and do f*ck all. They say they want 50% of kids to go uni, I mean half of these kids will just end up working in supermarkets because there want be enought high paid jobs to go around for so many degree kids. So they have this huge debt they can't pay of becuase they don't earn enought. It not what you know its who you know

Lords can only strike down a bill which wants to extend governments life beyond 5 years. All they can do to this bill is delay it.
