Setting up ortofons on vestax

Im tryint to put ortofon concorde nightclub on my vestax pdx2000

Anyone got any tips, i seem to have to put loads of weight to get the stylus to touch the record! dont have my manual for the decks or the ortofonbs so not sure what to do

can u even put ortofons on straight tone arms??? i dont think youj can... i think youj would have to buy their OM series for the vestax b/c they ujse the straight tonearm.

they werent designed for straight arms. only for S shape

first of all, concordes are really light as fuck.

u need to calibrate your tonearm...

put a blank vinyl on the tt (reverse of a 1-sided promo is good enuff) or the little protective needle sheaths on the cart - so nothing gets damaged.

set the anti-skate to 0, and then play with the weight until the tonearm balances in the air horizontally (set the weight as 0 to this point), then add as much weight as u want, imo go with about 2-3g. with s tonearms, the anti-skate is recommended to be set at half the weight put on the cart, with straight, it is meant to be half that again, i would go with a 1/3 instead tho to prolong the life of your records towards the end of the song so that the anti-skate does not damage the grooves in an attempt to pull to the middle.
