Be Cool! Production methods & Tips

Alright you guys...I'm going to request that we all share how we start out making a track..Do you mess with a synth till you find a cool sound, build a melody around that and so on? Do you put in the beat, and then lay the melodies? I guess that sort of thing...Also any tips you have for noobs, such as ...try the minor scale (most trance is written in minor)...Just anything you have to say of the sort.

I don't have any set method for what i do, i do it different ways each time...last time i started just looking for a cool synth sound...anyway i guess thats all peace

Here's a tip, move out of Kentucky - that would probably help your trance producing a bit
