keep mixing very poorly.
get beatmatching down, bit by bit.
continue to beatmatch.
you think you can beatmatch, prove yourself wrong by taping yourself live (45 / 90 minutes straight)
realize that you have much more beatmatchign to do.
practice knowing where to cue your stuff (<= i hate this)
practice transitions.
that's about where i am right now, the last two steps, knowing my vinyl but thats a bitch, almost makes it no fun
id rather just cue up quickly and let'er rip, makes for much more fun
my 1000th POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would give tips..but Patti has said what I would say..mix mix and mix. Do it until u get it. Then have somebody come over and mix for them...if u see them cringe, mix some more. Itll take a while
Reason I cant give more tips is that Im @ the same stage as u!

Talent of a fisherman? That wont help me mix..so maybe I do need good lick...I mean luck(that was a typo that ended up being funny).
Good Lick/luck to you too. AND GET SOME SLEEP!!

i read in an interview with some dj who i forgott.
anyway they were talking about why he became a dj, the obvious answer was he loves his music. but then he continued to talk about the curse of a dj, where you begin to pick apart every songs beats, changes, this that. and it gets to the point where every song you own you know in and out, and you can no longer sit back and enjoy the song as you once were able to.
the curse of the dj.
but thats what other djs are for -- to bring you new music.

yeah..I do that too. more so with the 'club' trance songs ie Blood is pumping etc I know those songs inside out. Half the time I can call a mix as soon as it starts @ the club I go to alot. Once I even called a opening song before the DJ took the decks. ok the song was why r u so quiet..and it was when it was popular.
Im starting to learn my friends vinyl now too...
