Trip to London

I'm thinking about flying to London around the Godskitchen Global Gathering event later this year and was wondering if anyone has any good ideas what to do besides the godskitchen event. I havn't really done anything spectacular lately and would love to make a nice trip out of this. I've seen John Digweed, Carl Cox, Oakie, and Tiesto...but I havn't seen Armin or Paul van Dyk ONCE!!! I've been into trance for a few years now and have yet to see them DJ. Rarely do they come to the US, and if they do, it's at a shitty venue, nothing like godskitchen...but how would I know??? I want to experience an awesome club night for the first time! Yeah, there's clubs out here, but an event like Global Gathering??? No Way! Now, of course the lineup hasn't been announced yet, but I'd love to see the big names at a huge event like that. Plus, I would love to go to a night at Air. SO I'm wondering, what's it like there? Is it as good as I think it is? Dress code? Age restriction? I really have no idea what it's like, any ANY info is appreciated. But besides the club nights and Global Gathering, what would be something cool to do? I guess this would be directed towards those from London and Stratford-Upon-Avon.
But I just want to get an idea of how to plan this, cus this could be something really awesome! It'll be hella fun, I'd learn a lot about the culture and lifestly, and take in the beautiful scenery. Again, I have no idea what it's like out there, but would love to learn. Anyone with any info about Godskitchen, or what to see around the area, or even the best ways to get around, I would love to hear from ya.
I'm really excited about planning a trip out there, and hope it can work out! Thanks for your time in reading this long post

Well I just returned from UK, but I was in London.
Just there there's so much to see, you won't have problem spending your extra time
As for club scene you inquire, well I find it very relaxed, ie. you should rarely have problem getting in anywhere, unless there's something wrong with you just kiddin.
For better info. on clubs pick up a copy of "mixmag" if you can, I bought it and it's a good magazine, tells you all you need to know.
Enjoy!

there is TONS of stuff in london to keep you occupied

but the club scene.... hmmm fridays there are some top nights - peach which used ot be at camden palace but soon to be at Vauxhall and The gallery @ turnmills in farringdon are top trance nights.
i wouldnt be so sure what happens on saturdays tho... as the previous guy said - grab a copy of mixmag and you will find a fair few places to go

global gathering is on 31st july and thats just been confirmed.... i dont think its too tricky getting trains up to the venue but i personally drive. as for air, thats in birmingham - again not too tricky to travel to but remember it will take up a few hours of your time.

hope u have a great time in my city.... i love it

I was thinking more and more anout this, and I think I may just fly into Birmingham and later make my way to London. So I was wondering, what's Godskitchen like? Hard to get into? I would love to go there if I could ontop of the Global Gathering. And judging from pics I've seen, Birmingham looks beautiful. And hopefully the train works out well, that's how I'll be getting around for the most part...

(And althought I'm not too big a fan of Hard To Find Records, might as well check it out since I'll be right there...)

the trains are pretty good, alot better than the US but not as good as other parts of Europe.

As previously mentioned the two big trance nites are at Peach and The Gallery. Iv got a sneaky feeling Gatecrasher might be on the firday before Global Gathering at a club called Heaven (in London).

There's loads of house music in London.

As for AIR, the friday before Global Gathering it will be cheap, almost certainly residents only and probably quite quiet. The age limit is 18 and they are not particularly tight on dress-code. You probably would need to buy tickets if there is a big name headlining. Been to Birmingham a couple of times and i would say it is far from beautiful. If you have neva been to London id recommend staying there.
