Read This! Palestinians, history and struggle

Just finished exams, finally.

Yoepus, to address your earlier questions about the CIA, yes, James Woosley was Director when the CIA invaded Haiti and Somalia, but I won't get into the details of that. And yes, since the CIA is a terrorist organization responsible for acts that have killed thousands of people, that makes the US government who helps plan these atrocities and funds them, a terrorist organization. Basically, this is the sad conclusion. It's hard to see the Presidents as terrorists but what can we say when we look at the actions of the CIA? You said it yourself. Another question you had was whether this means that the American people are terrorists since they pay taxes. I think the people don't realize how their taxes are spent. They don't realize that they're supporting terrorism around the world. This is why there is such thing as political activists. Activists work to educate the people on what our governments are doing in the world and where our taxes are going.

On to the origins of the Palestinians. What happened to the Canaanites, Amorites, Jebusites, Philistines, Cretes, and other tribes who lived there since history began? They were there before the Jews arrived from Egypt. They were there when Jews named the land Israel and Judah 2000 years ago. They were also there when the Romans named the land Palestine. Jews lived amongst these tribes throughout time. With the rise of Islam, Arabs spread from the Arabian peninsula and into Palestine where they mixed with those tribes and the Jews and Arabic became the common language and the people identified themsleves as Arabs, including the Jews of the region. When Ottomans incorporated it into their empire in 1516, they called Palestine a province. Therefore, the Palestinians, whether Muslim, Christian, or Jewish, have always lived on that land. Anyone who puts quotation marks on "Palestinian" and negates our existence is a racist and probably not worth debating with.

About Saddam and spam. Just want you all to know that in the Arab world we have beef spam, just as we have beef peperoni on pizza, beef sausages, and beef or turkey bacon. So the spam might have been beef, either way it doesn't matter, I hardly doubt Saddam followed his faith other than to showoff.

Nice post Palestinian...

I have been trying to tell this to many people i have argued with when they try to explain that Judea was the first and only ancient civilization. It makes me laugh though when they say it has been there forever.

Agreed, anyone who uses it immediatly has me in a fit of laughter, it just looks so comical.

It's almost useless making a serious post with that smiley included, it immediatly makes is humerous rather than meaningful.

On this point, the "Isrealites" were created when the Philistines went nuts along the west bank in about 1200-1500 BC and started ramsacking cities left-right and centre along the what is now known as the "West Bank". Refugees from several different cities of several different cultures (primarily the Canaanites though) were forced into the mountains of modern-day Isreal and formed their own culture. Through the need for these groups to "unite", Judaism - the first monotheistic religion - was created (these people were first refered to as "Isrealites" in an Egyptian tablet dated, from memory, about 1244 BC). This period of several hundred years spent as nomads in the modern-day Isreali mountains may be the basis of many Biblical myths about the history of the Isreali people, fwiw. I believe they reclaimed some land from the Philistines during this time (not sure though) and created the city of Jeruselum, which was then ramsacked by the Babylonians in the 7th century BC, with many of the Jewish people taken to Babylonia as prisoners. When Babylonia fell, Jeruselum was reclaimed and rebuilt.

Of course, none of this means that the "Isrealites" have any more of a right to the land you speak of than the "Palestinians" or vice-versa. The point is, though, that the Isrealites didn't steal this land from the tribes you're talking about, rather that the Isrealites were formed from the tribes you're talking about. In actual fact, there's probably a lesson for both sides of the debate here: you're both decended from the ancestors who had to unite, at one point, just to stay alive. Is the situation today that much different?

Shhhhh ... you can't let them know that they have anything in common. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure many are at work trying to categorize the other as being from a different species, therefore rationlizing why it's ok to do to one another the things they do. Why get in the way?

Ya just a little different today... if they unite today, a people ceases to exist, the very opposite of 'just staying alive'

as you can see, they don't want to unite. delusions of paranoia, think they won't exist anymore. that they'll just disappear if they unite with us. that is ultimately the root of the problem.

you're either naive, ignorant or just plain stupid. Explaining to you WHY Jews would not benefit if such a "union" was done looks like a waste of time anyway.

Evil1 the ultimate democracy

yeah well you're all three, naive, ignorant AND plain stupid. Jews won't benefit to unite with the Arabs of the land? Stop being paranoid and afraid. I want to coexist with you, why don't you want to coexit with me???? You're desire for separation shows your undemocratic mind. Unifying is the ultimate democracy. And you're fighting that because of your desire to remain the majority. People are dying because of your greed. Grow up.
