Yesssss another Rane Empath owner...
Seriously at around 300... i guess USD? Maybe one of those feature-packed behringer's a hear about...... its basically a djm-600 knockoff. From what I hear, effects aren't as good but it's definately a bargain... the djx700. Also the vmx300 from behringer is a solid mixer. However, remember that Behringer is a company that doesn't make mixers to "last" you like its rivals. Usually its feature-packed and after 1-3 years you will end up wanting it upgraded. For while it lasts, however, its definately has some merits. Plus the PCV-180 from vestax is worth looking into, otherwise the pcv-275 which is nearly the same thing just an older model. These are good solid mixers from peep's testimonials. Obviously, the highest you can go for a home setup would probably be an allen and heath xone mixer used straight up for medium-larger clubs. The djm-600 from pioneer is used alot in american clubs. However these are above the price range. The Rane Empath, in my opinion, if price isn't an issue, is one of the best all-round mixers. It gives you the ability to use it as a scratch, be transitional... or whatever you want. Stanton also makes cheaper mixers like this but Rane is definately hard to top in that category .
