LOL I was just about to post the same thread. IMO you should see what's the one that suits you best by reading their online manuals, you know that Korg features 2 samplers and has more effects, it's cheaper too. Pioneer on the other side has the jog wheel which I think has less control than the touchpad of the Korg's, but has an isolator (not sure about Korg's) and has the possibility to apply 2 effects at the same time (beat effects plus jet, wah, etc). The effects are more or less the same on both though, you'll never use those 100 effects I think. Anyways I know very well they operate but haven't used them yet; actually, I think I'll use the Kaoss Pad 2 today, since a friend of mine ordered and it should be here today, so then I'll say how it went
People, please only post here if you've checked the too, I know you love your Pioneer or your Kaoss Pad, but please, unbiased opinions!

Seems to me that the Pioneer would be more precise in replicating an effect, since it has a jogwheel instead of the Korg's pad. Heard it's rather hard to do the same thing twice on the Korg.

i was reading the specs for the kaoss pad though and apparently it has memory which can help u replicate exactly what u did previously if u liked it. i think it saves like.... a lot of them if u want.

Question

I've had my Kp2 for a couple weeks now...I haven't had a lot of time to mess around with it, so I haven't formed an opinion of it yet. A lot of the effects are very dynamic.....not exactly suited to my somewhat delicate mixes.....I know there are a lot of effects that I will never use in a mix....but I still have a lot to learn about it....but I am kind of worried that I dropped $300 bucks on something that I won't use all that much....I know the sampler will come in handy (2 x 6 secs apiece)...I think at this point, I'd have been better off spending that money on vinyl and get an FX unit later, but who knows, there may be some great effects on there that would go perfectly with my mixes, I just haven't discovered how to use them yet. I'll update if I remember....

you can store 8 effects yeh, good to store like one jet, one flanger, one wah etc. I don't think it stores their points though, only the effect used. So that will be like a top-8 of the 100 effects you can use, very handy IMO, that's why I don't get it why people say that "korg has so many effects you can't remember any"
