I figured I'd start a thread on cheap parking in downtown chicago for the various events out there.

Now obviously the veteran chicago super warriors like Pork can find street parking, but since my parallel parking skills are the suck...

Anyways, let's go by venue here and i'll edit the thread to have the venue and the parking spot:

Vision - Exit on East Ohio, stay on the left side of Ohio. Between DearBorn and State (hard to see),there's a parking garage that does $9 parking for the night and pops you out kitty corner from Vision When I can find a receipt I'll find the name on the place.

Transit - They have parking on the side of the building for cheap IIRC. Otherwise there is ample street parking around the place.

i've been pretty lucky so far with finding a pretty close spot on the street. i usually just allow myself an extra 30-40 min to find street parking. except for that one night that i called you nick, to ask about the cheap place near Vision, heh... i'll hafta remember that for next time!

first time i went out in chicago was for AVB last summer, and i paid $17 at a parking garage

i'm so glad that i can take a taxi ride to vision or anywhere downtown.

thank god for taxi's and/or rockstar parking...

welll I could take a taxi too......but $35 each way to the Loop is a bit excessive compared to parking


Tanks for the parking garage info....I might need to drive downtown after work one day this week to scope out my battle plan

valet is always a bargain compared to $15+++ @ garages...

usually $10 + $1 tip on the way out.

i'm no warrior. i usually just drive around several blocks around vision. if you can handle a 5min walk (couple blocks west of rockNroll Mcdonalds) you can usually find space there. i've been to vision 7 or 8 times the past year (3 or 4 with you nick?) and never failed to find parking

Oh ya...to add a little bit of clarity to the garage by Vision.

It is the Standard Parking garage with the little black sign which looks like it is directly below the big Embassy Suites sign. In after 5pm out by 5am is 8 dollars (though they let you run a little past 5am, I left at 5:06 and was still only charged 8 yay).
