You have to connect the output of your stereo (if you don't have one, take the output for the headphones) to an input of your soundcard. You can either use the line in or the microphone. I always use the line in. Seems like the record quality is better then via the microphone. It could be a wrong impression, I dunno. Make sure the settings in windows are all ok. To maks sure, just go check 'volume'. And then look at the sliders, and also if they are muted are not (make sure if you e.g. use the line in, that line in isn't muted !!). And then, use a record program, e.g. cooledit. You can always download it from internet, but the chance will be great that's it's the shareware version. Anyway try to find a record program, and then, just start recording into a wave. Don't record to loudly, otherwise, there could be some 'cracking' on your wave. Once you've done this, use a program to write your CDr. 'Easy CD creator' is very handy, I must say. To turn it into a mp3, use Audiograbber or another program that can convert waves to mp3's.
