I just wanna run Reason totally sperately to Cubase but I cant figure out how. Bloody technology, its too advanced for its own good.

I don't see exactly why you'd want to do that, but who am I to argue.

Either don't run Cubase (), or launch it after Reason (as Cubase is the host, a Rewire client like Reason needs to see the host first to connect). It's even stated clearly in the Reason manual (and Cubase manual too I believe).

Its a while since I looked at the 2.5 manual, and cubases manual is more of tome like than most ... tomes?

Yeah, if you open Reason first, you'll be good. If you open Cubase first, it'll know that Reason is in the system and it'll be waiting for you to open it so it can ReWire to it.
