Reason Synthesizer's

Is there a way of coverting wav files into the format that the reason synths use? If not, how are they made? I'm getting myself a bit confused about this.

What do you mean. A synth uses oscillators, not wave forms. Well some synths use waveforms, but subtractor has oscillators that create their own waveforms.

If you are refering to the sampler, it will load a wav file.

Maybe if you could be more detailed in what you are trying to do, I could help you out.

Use the NN19 to sample your own WAV files

If you mean wanging things into the Maelstrom, it can’t be done.

That is kinda what I meant..I'm just getting used to Reason so I'm not sure how everything works yet, as you can propably tell..

Basically, I'm just trying to find out how to make a descent trancy melody. I've played around with the patches, but can't seem to find anything what sounds good..

1. Select your malstrom
2. Choose sawtooth*16 on both osc
3. detune osc 1 at value 7
4. detune osc 2 at value -7
5. set the cent of osc 1 at value 7
6. set the cent of osc 2 at value -7

Save this patch, and then you can build most leads from here.
