The Avs certainly haven't been playing like the number one team as of late. Even though I like the Avs I'd rather see Vancouver win the Cup, but as long as it's anyone but the Red Wings I'm not too concerned

Heh, with the Avs up by one point you're getting all excited The reason Detroits played so up and down this year is because of their goaltending - honestly, I think Hasek's a bum, and they should stick with Joesph. Just wish Legace would show his No. 1 ability, and take the load.

I wonder if Ottawa will finally get their act together and go all the way this year? That'd be great to see.

i am a blackhawks fan and it seems like lately they have only been able to finish below detroit and st. louis (the two teams i hate). so, how about chicago winning a cup? to be honest, i don't think they will anytime soon.

well post Vday things may be looking better for the series here as the Wings got a pounding. but then the Avs just lost one to the Canucks...

ive been quite impressed with them tho, from what I have been able to ascertain living in Michigan. they may not be playing like the best team in the league now, but as standings go they pretty much are. and all they likely need to get into the playoffs is over .500.

better they backoff now and save energy for the playoffs rather than burn out catching up and dropping the first round like they did last year|

Christ I need to pay more attention to the trades...but still, Bondra really hasn't been that big of a force since 95 or 96 whenever he was the goal scoring leader. Plus the fact that Ottawa is pretty damn well loaded with all star talent on the right side already with Alfreddson, Hossa and Havlat, unless he's playing left I dunno how much of a difference he's gonna make...but then again isn't Hossa out with an injury?
So Washington lost Jagr & Bondra as if they weren't bad enough. And Robert Lang isn't a good producer w/o an excellent winger, just look at his performance in Pittsburgh after Jagr left. You can bet his numbers will decline now. Washington=cup contender

Lang still has Gonchar to feed him the puck, but you have to wonder if it'll be enough... and with Naslund hurt and the Canucks having trouble scoring... can you say St. Louis for the Art Ross? And people said he was too small.
