Sad virus issues....

HELP

i have an unkonwn virus in my computer which is sending out all sorts of emails from my accounts. I have been given a disc with norton on it to replace my version and need to update online but it wont let me do it : cant seem to detect my connection im on a uni network LAN setting....

anyone help? or know of any other freeware i can use because scanning doesnt pick anything up as is...

I started to use it becaue I had a similar prob, I had a virus that norton wouldn't pick up, once I used avg it found it and got rid of it.
