Equipment question

I've been busy producing tracks and I really need a CD player to suppliment my 1200's, is there anything wrong with just getting this:

I noticed that 1015(big sf club) had one of these in it's smaller booths and it looks like I could save some space in my studio along with being able to get two cd players for less then the price of one regular one.

You could get one of those but i'd suggest the platters just becuase you'll like the feel of them a lot more and your going to get better sound most likely from a platter.

Before you go into the "more money = better quality sound" thing, look at the acoustical specs first. I'm willing to bet those have good sound quality, whose only hindrance would be the quality of the cds.

there is absolutly nothing wrong w/ those. You wont hear any difference, and besides just about all output is based on the wiring. Those are fine!

well i guess it depends how much you are willing to spend and how seriously you are going to use cdjs. if you will stay with your 1200s and never really make a significant switch to cdjs, then i think that these would be more appropriate, just dropping in the occasional track from cd. but if you plan on using cds more extensively, then i would recommend getting better equip..

my 2 cents

I was actually in the same position as you were. I bought these a while ago in addition to my 1200s just to save money on wax. Quality is fine, but the only complaint i have about them is you have to find the right CDs to use in conjunction with your burner to keep the bpms constant. I notice with cheap no name brand CDRs that the bpm can jump as much as plus or minus 0.2%, but it's all relative to how it's burnt too.
