good old trance dead, me too

as i sit and list to the old 98 99 and older trance i realize that is no longer a reason for me to be a dj. My tables are for sale really cheap in the for sale section and i will make a list of all the old reacords that i have, some really hard to find records and some autographed i will be giving away if u pay shipping. My depression has ruined my life and never allowed me to live a normal one, not even on all those fukcing meds. I have never in my life been able to stick with anything or try really hard at it cause of this condion i live with. I will post a list of all my records soon in the for sale section for all to get some good stuff. I guess u are nothing without your mind.

I hear you man. Listening to trance from 98 and 99 and comparing it to todays trance from 03 and 04. You see todays trance has amazing production and the sound is such amazing quailty... so many good ideas.

And yet it feels so manufactured. It has no soul in it... and it doesn't come from the heart like it used too. Its like all the new artists are just worried about how to make "pro" sounds and and invent new ideas, which is all good but the feeling is just not the same as it used to be. I'm talking about all that fluff uplifting crap, thats not even uplifting compared to tracks by Kamaya Painters and Gouryella.

Don't get me wrong, I'm just talking in genereal and there are still songs that come out that are really good and are designed for people who listen to this genre and artists aren't to worried about production and out of this world sounds, but just trying to please those who are on the floor.

Imo tracks like Traffic really stand in that catagory, but its too bad all the mp3 kids bash it coz they prolly haven't heard it in a club.

Ahh that sucks man, I've read your other depression threads and all I can say is sorry nothing seems to be working. I'm just getting out of a seven year depression, and looking back, I can see that the good trance circa 98-2001 had a large part in keeping me going. Sad to see you do this man.

That's partially true. Maybe if you just fall into depression for a few months but are usually normal that'll work, but if you're chronically depressed, as it sounds like Neo Geo is, you can't just decide to get better. For me it took meds, and even though I'm still on them if I allow myself to get down then I will. But the meds help to balance you out, something you can't just do mentally.

Good luck Neo, and you might not want to sell your decks just yet. I know how depression makes you basically not want to do shit, but if you manage to come out of it anytime soon you may be happy that you have them.I know they helped give me an outlet.

don't sell the decks unless you really need the money and are definitely jaded of music, or you may regret it.. with a depression and such, they can give a little bit of fun to forget the problems
