Idea Old Skool Kung Fu/Samurai Movies

unfortunatly, most ppl i know are more driven by the likes of jet li movies and other spec effects riddled movies... and fail to see the raw talent and skill of the old skool kung fu movies.

just bought the kill bill ltd edition box set thingy, which has 3 movies that infliuenced kill bill ... contains, babycart at the river styx, lady snowblood and zatoichi meets the one armed swordsman.

babycart at the river styx ... an old samurai assasin puching his toddler around in a wooden cart bursting with traps and weapons cutting slicing and shredding enemies to pieces and sraying blood a piss after watching a movie at the cinema. how can jet li's recent crap be better than this... discuss

Good choice, but the old, subtitled Jackie Chan movies are even better.

Jet Li is a wannabe Jackie Chan. The latter is actually a stunt man too and performs all his own stunts, the former's just some random martial artist that Hollywood picked when they couldn't afford Chan.

Not that Jet Li isn't talented... just doesn't have that much to offer acting-wise.

i whole-heartedly agree, forget anything new by him though, old stuff like 'half a loaf of kung-fu' and the 36 chambers films were amazing!

Yeah, Jackie Chan is not that convincing of an actor, but drama isn't really the reason I watch Kung Fu movies. I wanna find some of his really old ones but I've never been able to (talking about in stores here, not on the internet).
