While reading three important papers in the history of literature, White Mans Burden, Let America be America and Shooting an Elephant, readers night notice that, as noble as the writers might sound, each one is not being realistic with the intentions of each paper. Each one of the writers, Rudyard Kipling, George Orwell and Thomas Jefferson set out to change the world for the better, not realizing that the standards they were setting were nearly impossible to reach.
