Funny but good advise

Here's a tip from keiretsu's live engineer, Henry.
- "How do you get the drumkit to sound good?"
- "Well, I make it sound as bad as I possibly can, then I do the opposite".

aha.

And what's the opposite of 5 degrees Celsius?

What's the opposite of 2 meters?

What's the opposite of a monkey?

What's the opposite of useful advise?

A: - Henry's tip

I see what you mean but the advice has to be taken less litraly, if the reverb sounds terrible with a large room set it too a small room, if a melody sounds terrible with no delay use delay.

Thats the way I interprit it anyway.

if something sounds bad with one setting, there are infinitely many alternative settings. And if a big room sounds bad, I think it will be pure coincidence whether a small room will sound good or bad. Or a Large, medium or small hall. Or a plate reverb. Or.....
