The Rome derby

.. what can you say. this is absolutely nuts..

Roma's fans started to launch flares onto the pitch, which appear to have some sort of irritant in them. The ref picks up the ball and calls the players into the centre circle, meanwhile the head of the roma "ultras" or whatever the fuck they are called stroles onto the pitch with no-one stopping him, marches right up to francesco totti and starts pleading with him to take his players off the park.

It turned out that a young child had been ran over and killed outside the ground by a police van. So as a mark of respect or as a protest, the fans start to cause havoc in the stadium to get the match abandoned.

After about twenty minutes and 5 seperate fires around the ground the ref finally decides it's better to postpone the match as fans are starting to jump barricades to get away from the smoke.

this is fan power at it's most evident, but at what cost to the roma side.

funny part is that the whole thing was a rumour ... no kid was killed by a police car .... massimo oddo said it all when he said "This can happen only in Italy" ... anyways the game will be replayed
