would this be a viable solution,
If my mixer is barley boosting the signal, could i plug both TT's into the line in socket on the mixer, and then run the output (from mixer) into the Phono slot on an amp, instead of the normally aux, so the sound is boosted by the amp?
This isn't really possible at the moment as i dont have an amp with phono, just a hifi with built in amplifier, but i presume in theory this would work, no? |
Except it will sound like butt when you listen to it in your headphones because you are listening to the uncorrected record signal. The preamp does more than just make it a lot louder, it boosts/reduces some frequences (known as the RIAA curve).
