Big Ears Ian Vanderson - Havannah Beach (Demo Cut)

Hello out there.

Time has come to present the first of my traxx:

Ian Vanderson - Havanna Beach (Demo Cut).mp3

I`ve trimmed the Orignal track from 7:42 minutes to a 3-minute-"Demo Cut"-version. Hope its enough to get a feeling of this track.

I`ve used Reason 2.5 and a middle class sound system, so my mastering abilities and/or possibilities are lil bit limited.

Would be glad to hear some Opinions about the track from you. Please feel also free to criticize my work. I`ll cope with this.

Thank you, mef.

I`ve got a 600 Dollar-compact-Surroundsound-system. Mastering is not so easy with my speakers, cause their frequencies are not outbalanced enough for getting a good sound on other sound systems, too. So mostly my tracks seem to be less powerful and darker on other ones soundsystems.

You need more backup voices during the breakdown...you tend to lose the listener the way you have it structured here.

I liked the initial buildup right before everything dropped off, but after that it was pretty weak. I think you can do a better job on the buildup.

Track could sound better sped up about 5-10 bpm. Your lead is a bit too loud, it tends to overshadow everything else.

Loving the unique sound though - brings an originality to it.

Thank you very much for your cutup, tranc3.

You are right. I`ve heard my track with headphones just now and it seems to be lil bit boring. The bassline is almost completely swallowed by the melody guitar synth, I should really change this.

`will update this track soon. Hope to change this one to a worth-to-listen-track sometime.

Nice tune,

I think those guitar string things need to be emphasised a bit more, perhaps a bit more variation in melody too? Production definitely needs more work. I agree with tranc3 - the breakdown really does need something else in the background like vocals or some kind of wooshing pads.

The track sounds like it definitely has potential, keep at it mate.

I think this track totally has potential, but it needs to be taken to the next level somehow. A few little tweaks here and there and master this sucker and it might come out crisper. On that dark sine (dunno how to describe it, i dont have the technical knowledge or experience to back me), for the last bit of the demo, might sound nicer with a note variation on the 2nd to last one of each loop.

i dunno, its hard to describe, its like its soo close, some small change or tweak could push it over the edge.. hmm.
