on play settings on sound volume controls for windows, mute the line-in. on record settings, check line-in (if you use your line-in to record and not the mic).
btw, this is amateur dj promotion, not really a place to post technical help questions. |
Thanks, I'll check that..
I couldn't decide which forum to post this in, just thought that everyone in here must record there sets, so someone must have had the same problem.

What program are you using to record it? Cos if it's real player it'll use real media encoding which can do that gives the high-mids and mids a weird kind of modulation type thing. |
I'm using Cool edit pro to record..

Hehehe yup.
Anyway Cooledit should be ok. To be honest I don't really know what it could be. Earthing problems are more of a hum. Weak connections normally are either just noisey(i.e. have lots of noise) or have little crackly bits. Is it happening across both channels(on the recording)? Does it happen when using channels of your mixer? What I'd be inclined to try is up your outout level from your mixer either using the gains or if it's not a record out just change the volume level. Then at the PC reduce the level using the windows volume control recording section. |
It happens on both channels, its really strange because sometimes it will just happen for about 10 minutes in the middle of the set and the rest be fine, and others it will be the whole way through.. Annoying, cause you never know if its gonna happen until you've finished the whole set.. Anywayz, I'll try that. It probs will be that line-in thing, I don't think it is muted..

Yeah thats probably more like it..
I recorded two sets over weekend and none of them recorded with that stupid noise, so it looks like it was the line-in thing..Fingers crossed n all that.
Cheers guys..
