Bwahahahaha, PMPO!!!
That's the stupidest bullshit I've ever seen come out of advertisers in recent times. It's bad enough that they're selling speaker systems that apparently have 400 watts rms output when they only consume 150 watts rms input, but PMPO is by far THE most dubious measure of power I have EVER seen and should never ever be taken seriously.
Literally, "PMPO" means "Peak Momentary Performance Output" - which is the theoretical (i.e. on paper, not in real life), peak-to-peak output power it can handle for about a fraction of a second at a time.
400 watts "PMPO" is generally somewhere between 5 and 30 watts rms. Just so you know. And I'm guessing that the 30 is in pounds? No way I'd pay that much for 'em. But do what ya like Dave.
Edit: I also like how they measure their distortion at 1 W, 1 kHz... I wonder what it would be at 400 W, 15 kHz?
