I'm still relatively new to trance, and I come upon the words like "ft" "feat" "vs" and "with" alot in electronic music. I was wondering what they mean.

For ex: DJ Tiesto ft. Ferry Corsten - Dreamtime

simply means "featuring". so if you have DJ Tiesto ft. Ferry Corsten - Dreamtime, it just means that Ferry corsten worked on the production with Tiesto.

It is sort of a remix. Usually it is 2 tracks interwoven to make a new one. An example would be "BT vs Sasha - Remember Magnetic North". The person/s that made it used BT - Remember, Sasha - Magnetic North and "mashed" them together.

Bootleg I think is a track that uses samples from another tune, or is a tune remixed without the original producers permission.

I used to think it meant so-and-so DJ hated so-and-so DJ and the track was like a battle between the two of them... little did I know... I guess that's what I get for reading too much "Spy vs. Spy"... yipes!

usually i noticed when presents is used... its either introducing a new alias for the artist or the producer is featuring a new and relatively unknown artist
