Tonight on DI.fm - Nu-Star presents...

Global Trance Impressions

7pm-9pm (GMT+1)

Featuring Nu-Star Artist Greg Downey :-

Greg Downey began DJing over 5 years ago and in this time has established himself firmly among the best young DJs in the UK. Born in Belfast - Ireland, Greg developed a taste for tougher electronic dance music from a young age, and this is complimented perfectly in his own style which combines techno with underground and uplifting trance.

Greg’s first big break came when he was spotted DJing at an after club in Ibiza in 2000 by the Gatecrasher Ibiza promoter. He was immediately asked to play for them at the legendary Space club. From there things went from strength to strength resulting in Ibiza bookings at Euphoria and Tonic at Eden, Sundissential, Storm and the massive MTV’s Medonism Festival. The result was a featured article in Mixmag highlighting Greg as one of the hottest young DJs around.

After winning the prestigious DJ competition held by Ibiza Superclub Eden in 2000, Greg went back to Ireland where he won yet another competition – Ireland’s BBM Magazine DJ Competition this time. This led onto bookings at the biggest clubs in Ireland including The Coach and The Met and a full page feature in The Sunday Life – Ireland’s biggest newspaper.

Having established a strong following in his home country, Greg has made the short overseas trip to England, where he is now based. He is currently resident at the well respected Scream events in Bristol and makes regular appearances at other venues including Wildchild and Dance Academy.

Greg travels back to Ireland for bookings on a regular basis, where he is also in the process of producing his first tracks with Belfast outfit D.A.S.K, the first of which named ‘Climate’ is receiving great support on early promos and looks set to take dance floors by storm in 2004.

At only 22 years of age, these achievements combined with his outstanding technical ability and desire to succeed make Greg a hot insider’s tip for future success.
