Recording VTT mixes...Two Soundcards

How do I accomplish this?

Ive searched the threads and people have suggested Cool Edit Pro (couldnt get to work) and Total Recorder (worked with one soundcard, not with two)

Any other ways of accomplishing this? I have an onboard soundcard and a SB16 PCI
