Those with the Gabriel & Dresden- Global DJ Broadcast (04.05.2004) set, *READ*

Well, I was listening to this set over again and during the breakdown in "Plump DJs feat. Gary Numan - How Much is Enough" from -13:02 to -12:20 remaining (44:15 to 44:56 for those who don't go by time remaining) you can hear "Chakra - I Am" vocals being played very faintly in the background. These weren't in the original release of "How Much is Enough", so G&D must have added them.

I didn't hear this listening the first time, but thought it was pretty cool. Little stuff that G&D slip into their sets.

There's a some other mixes they make where if you listen VERRRRY carefully, you can actually hear vocals faintly in the background that aren't with the song currently being played.....

Like in their Dec 15 GDJB mix... When the original mix of ATRC is playing, if you listen verrry carefully, you can hear the vocals from nasty shakes (Kelis vs. Coldplay) faintly in the background ... at the beginning of the track and throughout it.... Nasty Shakes is actually the next track after the ATRC track....

I think the point of G&D putting it in is to watermark the song...so people won't rip it and burn it to CDR and use it in their own sets.

Yeah, but G&D don't play "Chakra - I Am" anywhere in this recent mix.

i think they are also just experimenting with mixing, cause im sure they realised that there are thousands of copies of ATRC out there for people to burn in december for last year. So i dont think that was their motive in that case.

Dresden has been doing the same in his own sets, just mixing in vocals, to give the songs different feels.

I am very glad djs are doing this, cause it gives each set a very unique feel to it.

What other DJs are doing this? Because G&D are just about the only ones I've heard that do it often.

I think Gabriel & Dresden are the only ones doing this lately. Markus Schulz does it ONCE in awhile.

well i did mean G&D to be honest. I havent anybody else do this really. Well sometimes Armin does some really long transitions, which give the same effect. Kinda like mixing one track right over top of the other, to add vocals from one song to the other. BT does it to some extent, with his "ditial symphony" live remixing.

but thats another story

Not really, this was an acapella of "I Am" thrown in the breakdown of another song and it was very faint. Like I said, I didn't even hear it when I was listening to the live broadcast. G&D never played "I Am" anywhere else in the set either.
