Organising Your Vinyl

How do you lot organise your tunes??
Whatever is easiest for you

Do you catorgorise them in years?

or do you seperate them by style ie ignoring the dates the tunes were released.
For Instance Vocal trance, Melodic Trance, Pumping Trance, Prog Trance?

Thats what i do too. I leave the records that I don't play much on the shelf in alhpabetical title order and the records in my box which i play the most i have organized into warmup proggy stuff, techydriving stuff, high energy builders, and thenfull on trance.

at the moment all my vinyls are in the order that I bought them... that's because I have hardly played any of them (I don't have decks), yet I still have over 100 lol. I expect it to stay this way even when I do have decks, as it's the order in which I remember keeping them so it won't be hard to rememer where a particular vinyl is... but I'll probably eventually have them in order of what I play most

I just go from soft to hard, as your set progresses you can always dig deeper into your vinyls, works for me.

I organize my box by style. I play both upbeat prog and trance, In a set i build from one to the other. at the fron i have all my darker prog then i have my upbeat stuff, then i start getting into my trance.....harder stuff in the back.

I always have a stack of new tunes in the front as well. After i get about 50 new ones i re organize and put them in their proper place. Nothing is worse then wanting to play a specific tune and not being able to find the bloody thing.
