after showing up late for school and missing the only class i had today i walked over to the MHV at 333 Yonge to browse some DVD movies. as i browsed the main floor i heard a pounding noise from above the ceiling. in bewilderment, i sought to find the source of this noise. i eventually noticed that the sound was coming from the floor directly above me, so i proceeded to head up the escallator to prod my curiousity. as i approached the 2nd floor the thumping noise soon evolved into a familiar trance tune.. saltwater- the legacy (alphazone remix). i eventually got upstairs only to realize that Tiesto's live in concert was being played on their 5 plasma screens with the store soundsystem blazing. the 3 screens at the top of the escallators caught my attention to which i stood for a good 10-15 mins observing the revelry unfold.
Through this time, other passerbys came upstairs and stopped to witness this sheer raw delight. one girl in her late 20's stopped to observe the footage in awe. It would only be another 10-15 mins later that i then witnessed her browse thru numerous electronica CD'z in the section adjacent to me. other bystanders were caught in the extravaganza and would continue their day with emotions of curiousity and a strange sense of things to come..
as did i

I actually have somewhat better news....I hear that in that huge construction yard right next to HMV they will be building a large building with a Virgin Megasotre on the first level. As far as I know virgin records is big on trance and dance music in general, they have many big names signed on to them, not to mention they always have BIG NAME DJs doing in-store sessions and appearances. If that is true there will be much better lawn chair days ahead
Although on a sad note that also means good bye Sam the Record Man...that will kill that poor store guaranteed.
Speaking of that corner, does anyone know about that project they're working on? i know it's called Metropolis entertainment complex but i thought it was some type of Olypmic building for the 2012 bid or something...

Its cool when you hear things like that in unexpected places, we were in circuit city in Buffalo two weeks ago and heard Nothing But You bangin in the car audio section. Not a new track but def one to love. Of course we walked over to who it was in Buffalo that actually liked something other than hip hop. It was the guy that worked there. Had a cool conversation. Goes to show that music can bring people together.
