Forum for ASIA

Including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. These are the most important ones.

I used to live in Indonesia and Singapore, and I know both places well.

You should really have a forum for those places too.

cheers folks

You'll need a significant amount of people who actually live there to express their support for the idea, as if there aren't enough people involved, then the forum will just die. Also, forums generally aren't made for individual continents, but rather specific countries.

you're right on certain points I won't deny it. There's a very important need for a new forum to be supported by people who actually live in the area's the forum is designated for.

The whole continent idea on the other hand even if it appears sketchy isn't really that bad; the spanish/portuguese speaking forums aren't country designated but more central/south america so in a sense continent based can work.

To come back to the first point, it is vital that it's locally supported or it'll obviously die; this cannot be started based on a popularity contest because TA itself is already half asian of origin but no one lives there anymore and the actual amount of TAs truely based in asia is somewhat minimal causing the user base inferior to the need it can fulfill.

i have to agree.. most of the Asian TA users like myself are spread out across the existing regional forums within their own communities. Moreover many of these members are essentially citizens of these countries and often do not have any former relationship with their country of ancestry other than maybe speaking the language.

This idea of an Asian forum has been brought up many times only to be overturned as a result of minimal interest from an actual indigenous asian community. I know for a fact that large groups of the asian demographic in asia do support this scene, unfortunately it just doesn't appear that TA is that popular overseas yet.

Eventually if TA is someday more heavily marketed in the far East will such a forum come to exist. i'd be in favour of it, simply due to the fact that it's very useful knowing TA's in other countries especially if you even plan on travelling there some day..

yeah i live in bangkok and actually did request a new forum for asia and sub sections for certain countries a while back. naturally it did get shot down :P

i have gotten a bunch of pms or emails from people who live in the area or who visit bangkok and i have talked to some individually that way. hopefully TA will become more popular in the future here, so a local trance scene can be brought to the forefront.

someday

too soon i think, not enough asian members around. like desidel said, most the users with an asian country's flag does not even reside in the continent.
look at the ibero-america forums, it's still a bith shaky

Weirdly, it only happened in the Spanish part - the Portuguese part has fewer members (around 20 versus the 90 that claim to use the spanish part) and two times more posts

i know there may not be a lot of members, but what is the harm of starting one...there really is nothing to loose by startting one and seeing what kind of a response we would get...

it would be great to have a forum for certain asian countries. i am in indonesia and singapore frequently, and it would be nice to get to know some of the local TAs before hand...

who would we have to approach about doing this??

Swamper.

A lot depends on the exact number of asians who r active on TA...and they better post up in this thread ! Honestly I dont think the numbers are in favor of it...but nothing wrong in experimenting.
