I guess vocals will make a track more likeable already.

Definately remixes of mainstream tunes that most people would notice.
Continually switch off between those and whatever you like before phasing them out completely once people get a feel to the music.

What he said.
I suggest you give them some nice easy listening prog tunes.Nothing too thumping but still you could dance to it.

I suggest you forget about it
through my own expirience nothing you can do will change this peoples opinions about EDM esp. with just a mix cd, and giving them cheese and mainstream tracks does not serve your purpose, it will do exactly the opposite i.e. give them a wrong, maybe bad impression of EDM :/
dont waste your time and money for people that wont appreciate it, listen to what you like and let them listen to what they like, or else you'll probably end up getting comments like "wtf? you listen to this techno stuff? got any destiny's child?" etc etc

Then dont play any cheese.
PLay something thats easy to listen to and even the hardcore hip hoppers, metalheads will like it.
These guys probably have heard about DJ Sammy and probably hate them.
Not all of us started out with cheese. I actually loathed DJ sammy about 3 years ago.I didnt start by listening to any of ATB's tracks. I hated tunes from AQUA and Ace of Bass.
Might sound crazy for some of you guys but I actually loved Oakenfold's work the first time I heard it back in 1999.
Give them a little main stream .. say Oakenfold's swordfish or Bunkka album. Give them a little of Chemical brothers and Fatboy Slim.

Drum'n'bass... fast paced beats with all that "tum-tum-ta-ka-ta-ching" and growling basslines making "woom-woom-woom" and all the girls going "uh-uh-ah-ah" and the DJ's and all "wrip wrip roar" and there'll be more fast paced beats with all that "tum-tum-ta-ka-ta-ching" and more growling basslines making "woom-woom-woom" and more girls going "uh-uh-ah-ah" and more DJ's and all "wrip wrip roar" and there'll be even more fast paced beats with all that "tum-tum-ta-ka-ta-ching" and even more growling basslines making "woom-woom-woom" and even more girls, who will have come from all around the neighbourhood by now, going "uh-uh-ah-ah" and the DJ's and all the DJ's telling you to "step to the rhythm: rewind selectah!" with all that "wrip wrip roar" in the background and it will all be massive and the hottest girl of the party will come to you and say "hello there, do you wanna have some... I'll give you a hint, there's ass in it" and you're so driven by the beats that you say "bass! yes, I do want bass" and by this time you know what the best party music of all time is.
Seriously now: the key is not to play just one particular genre.

Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Public Domain... these usually work best when I provide music to parties.
