Dunno Logic and MIDI files ???

I bought Logic 6.4 not to long ago, and I was going great until I wanted to mess around with the MIDI files which I've downloaded from here, first of all for some reason I cannot import them > Second of all, when I draged them into Logic I was able to see the file but I wasn;t able to hear the music . So what am I doing wrong ? Comments , Ideas Etc..

Thank You

You do know that you have to output the midi file to a sound device yeah?

A MIDI file is just a collection of notes...and some other information, but none of which is actual audio. Route the MIDI controller to a synth and you'll hear it.

If the midi file you are using has a bunch of tracks like some of the songs that are Dlable from here use Logic command+O to open the file. Then you have to go into the enviroment under midi instrument and add a GM synth, go to the menu in the enviroment window hit new/internal/apple quicktime and then drag the cable from GM Device to the Apple Quicktime object. Now all the tracks will play GM sounds.

If I'm not mistaken, the midi in Logic 6.+ is dealt with in the Matrix editor, is it not? SO I guess try to import the midi file there.

Yep you're mistaken, the matrix editor is for editing the individual notes in a midi sequence.

Good guess though.
