Reason 2.5 if you are new, and it's cheaper so you want waste as much money if you don't like producing.

Cubase SX is a highly proffesional program that can do almost anything, it would probably be better to start off with Reason or maybe FL Studio, and then proceed over to some more delicate program, like Cubase, and you use Cubase at the same time as both Reason and FL Studio.

Well if the keyboard you are using has a midi cable, then you will need a midi interface on your computer. If your keyboard has a USB connection, then use this because it means you do not have to purchase a midi interface, unless of course you already have on.
Then, simply plug the cable into the interface or USB port (depending on what cable you use). Then in reason, go into preferences, midi and select your port.

Why did you buy both of them without researching them first? And there's a sticky on the top that talks about different sequencers titled "New? Then...: READ HERE BEFORE YOU POST"

reason is best imo, it got everything you need + external unsion and scream4 on of the best distortion unit around.
if you gonne use stuff like fruity, logic or cubase you gonne probably have to search for some VST's see what you like, + some patches for those if you dont know how to program big synths.
i use reason and love it, substractor the main synth is very easy to understand and very nice.
i dont know alot about cubase, its good also i bet.
