There's Always a First

Hello, guys. I browsed this place last night and found it to be pretty interesting, for different reasons. Good job on it. I decided to create my first Trance song two days ago (I finished it yesterday afternoon), and then listen to what others have to say about it. Well, I assumed this was the correct forum for that!

Here's the link for downloading the mp3:

http://santorini.globat.com/~xanadu...com/MyOwnMusic/

The file is called "Sunny Rainfall." And it was made with Fruity Loops.

Well, hope to hear from you guys soon. Cheers.

Hmm, I'm not completely sure as to what you mean. Is it about a bassline, some synth? I need more specifics in order to point out what I can improve. *shrugs*

The simplest way to describe it is that you have your melody synths (high frequencies) much much louder than your kick and bass (low frequencies).

Some nice ideas in there, but the track doesn't really go much of anywhere.

Sounds like way too much reverb and filters.

Turn down the leads...espcially the main lead.

Turn down the reverb on everything...it's not good to hear everything echo together, it gets very muddy.

The snare sounds like a drum & bass snare...not a trance snare.

EQ everything.

Sounds like a good experiment but you have no progression or anything. Listen to alot of trance songs and you get a basic feel as to what most of them sound like as the track goes on and on.

I understand about lowering the leads' volume, and perhaps even raising the kicks' and drums' volume, respectively. I am not sure what you mean by how a snare is more drum 'n bass-like rather than trance-like. Hmmm. Progression issue is visible, I can work on that. Thank you.

I dunno the snare just doesn't sound like something you'd hear in a trance track. Maybe if you EQ'ed it right and added some small amount of reverb.

I just have one question to ask you. What audio device did you use to produce that?
