American Hostage Escapes!

quote:
By LEE KEATH, Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq - In a daring escape, American hostage Thomas Hamill pried open the doors of the house where he was being held late Sunday morning and ran a half-mile to a military convoy that was passing by, officials and his wife said. Hamill, 43, of Macon, Miss., identified himself to the U.S. soldiers, then led them back to his Iraqi captors, two of whom were captured.

Woo Hoo! Small miracles!

hehe sweet sense of irony there at the end.

Now the captors are captives and get to experience all the joys of being the hostage (now including great nude pyramid building exercises! )

I am sure they paraphrased it, and did not go into if he had found theri daily patterns and where were at.

I was reading a military field manual a while back and it detialed how to escape, went over walk up behind guards without notice, how to kill them quickly. so I wouldn't doubt he had to kill one or two people on his way out.

btu I know I could be wrong.

Another feel good story for America, he was actually released. The negotiation began days b4. Imagine a fat American from Alabama not only escapes thorught the skin of his teeth but then runs half a mile...

Its just a lesser version of Jessica Lynch, they had to do something after the torture/abuse debaucle

I believe your point has been established by now, he escaped, he was freed who really cares what happened, point is he is no longer a captive. Seems to me you are more upset that he was somehow no longer behing held hostage and the media is speaking about his story with your connotations of feel good story, fat American from Alabama, etc.

No, youre right, my point is though that CBS reported initially he was freed (!!), then after the american propaganda machine runs a check after the debaucle that happened, they decide to run and operate another feel good story. My only point is that he was freed, did not escape, and the funny fact part of a fat man running half a mile in the desert..lol
