Markus Schulz @ MIA Lounge 5/3/04 REVIEW + PICS!!!
Another great night in Hollywood.
I arrived at about 9:50, and [eks] and his brother were already there, but they wouldn't let his brother in because of the dress code. Dress codes....oh, gimme a break.
I went in, and was alone for a while....Then Markus and Heather arrived. I greeted them and we took a table to hang out at and rap until it was Markus' turn to spin, which would be at about 10:40, 10:45.
A little while later, Harold and Mike (TigerClaw) arrived. So now it's the five of us. A little while later, [eks[ and his brother finally get in. They got clothes that passed the dress code! So now it's us 7.
Very few TA's but the spirit was there in support for Markus.
Eric Velez tortured us with the shite they play on 93.1, and what killed me was that he played Burned with Desire. I expect to hear that on ID&T, NOT Party 93.1 unless it's played by someone else!!!
Anyway, Markus started to spin....the place was dead, but slowly but surely, the place started filling up......The crowd really got into Markus' set, and Markus even had a cheerleader in front of the DJ booth. One of the people that works @ MIA....only thing is, this cheerleader was a GUY. Still, he was cool.
The place REALLY went berserk when Markus threw down Oceanlab - Satelite. Markus finished his set at 1:55 or so. He got a big round of applause, and rightfully so.
Oh, and this event was also made historic by this:
I went there SOBER. I had one shot of this nasty shit Heather referred to as 'rubbing alcohol with...something sweet,' I forgot her exact analogy, but she had me laughing my face off. That was the only drink I had that night....I was somewhat quiet and boring. Now you guys see why I drink so much...I'm more outgoing that way.
All in all, a fantastic night. Can't wait to see you again Markus on the 31st, I believe. This time, I'm gonna see about bringing my vidcam to tape in there. That club ain't like Space so I don't think it will be a problem.
SALUD.
