My opinion: simply ban and close the post padding rooms. Post counts aren't visible anyhow, and as such most people don't post whore - as you can't see someone's post count without clicking on their profile. That way we could avoid cutting off the post count tally for even more forums, but put a stop to most organized spam at the same time. |
the problem is some local forums run by one moderator need such threads closing which haven't been done or take ages, and the mods abuse powers about them, the only way I could see for that problem would be for the universal mods - neo, jeff, blik etc to have the power to shut a thread of such nature in a local forum should they think it needs attn from a mod who isn't about or is flaunting the rules

That's the thing through, if there's an overly inactive mod, or a mod who's flaunting the rules - then perhaps they shouldn't be a mod. That's how it's done on most other forums, and it works fine. But yeah, I like the idea of someone like neo having the power to close threads - as long as Swamper approves of course. |
I'm in agreement there, the only thing I'd say is that when threads turn +1 or whatever or spam, surely its more effort to shu a thread for a mod, than for it to be pointless anyway as +1 = nothing with the non-existence of a postcount like ?
I think neo's main problem is that he's too fair, people try & mess with him, but we all know he & others do a top job, the only thing then comes to if swamper would replace mods who aren't doing their jobs, but this wouldn't be so much a case if no posts counted, imho anyway
