Re: ATL vs FL BBQs

This weekend i had a unique experience to party back to back with the ATL TAs on saturday and the FL TAs on sunday. Each was having a small party/BBQ with turntables and lots of alcohol. So i decided to do a compare and contrast of both parties.
First off, ATL KNOWS HOW TO PARTY!!! I was so impressed by the way they threw it down on saturday. We (Sara, Greg, Cynthia, and I) arrive at the house around 9:30. The cul de sac is completely filled with cars and bobby's driveway is overflowing. The party is taking place at 2 houses right next door to each other in a quaint little suburb about 45 minutes northwest of Atlanta. So we walk in, and for the first few minutes all i hear is "OMG its ...!!!" There are bobby's turtables in the living room hooked up to Ken's awesome sound system and to a smaller bookshelf stereo providing us with a booth monitor and a speaker for outside. A big strobe light and laser are goin off in the living room as well. Goin out back i find a large grill (wich was put to use all night long), 2 kegs, and a hot tub. bottles of liquor, potato chips, and condiments for hamburgs and hotdogs cover a table near the grill. over on the side of the house, i find a pool, and OMG WTF is that? oh yeah, its a giant inflatable moonwalk, slide thingy, shaped like a bulldog. turntables, beer, liquor, food, moonwalks? yeah its gonna be a fun night. Brent (zewad) was there and wins my award for TA trooper. flying in saturday and out sunday for a TA house party. awesome to see you again as allways bro! i think i met every single ATLTA. im really bad with names so im not gonna try to remember. Jordan was the first to pass out, but made a return around 4:00AM and rejoined the party. Awesome sets were thrown down by bobby, jack, and OMG Scott!!! my first set really sucked and i blame that on bobby's TTs. they just have a learning curve to them. it was a great night full of music and mayhem. i did a faceplant into the moonwalk, bobby climbed on top of it and allmost fell off. i watched the sun come up chillin in the hot tub with brent, bobby and jack. bobby passed out shortly after and wins my award for last man standing! Jack, brent and i, dont apply for this award otherwise it would have been a 3way tie of those who dont need sleep. lots of pictures, lots of food. lots of fun. great people, good vibes, i could just keep goin on about this party, but lets move on to FL.
So after staying up ALL night in ATL, we head back to FL. we drop off greg and cyn in G-ville. and sara and i make our way back to O-town for the party at James' house. we get to sara's and i leave to head straight to the party while she takes some time to get ready. i get to james house and again, the cul de sac is totally filled with cars. only this time about half of those cars are Oveido Police. there are like 6 or 7 total cop cars when i pull up and a couple of the guys are geared up like swat or riot controll or something. only TAs that were still there were james, hope and jeff, kazok, and stan. the music had been shut down by the Po and tha party seemed to be quickly fading. with no more turntables, i decided to head for home to shower, change, and head down to alpha. however, stayin up allnight in atlanta finally caught up with me and i never made it back out last night, sorry guys.
The party in ATL definitly wins this first battle in what im sure will be a long standing war of who parties harder. There was a little drama saturday night, but nothing in comparison to the drama the oviedo police bring. Orlando, we need a new party spot where the neighbors dont call the cops everytime you fart too loud. and bobby, do i remember you saying the the house on the other side of yours is for sale? if it is, me, greg, cyn and sara are movin in and then.... OMG is all i can say if that ever happened. lol.
THANK YOU ATL FOR AN AWESOME NIGHT!!!!!!
btw, pics? |
You missed a great time at alpha. The alpha party was ssooo good and you missed it. So do not compare till you go to all events. (Me turning my back in disappointment)

yea, the great sets at Alpha made up somewhat for the shittiness earlier on.
you also really should have arrived to the party before it was busted. it was looking like it was going to be pretty decent, i could feel the vibe when i stepped behind the decks and then as i was beatmatching the 2nd song cops are in my backyard... f**king killed the whole vibe, a good amount of the TAs got scared and dipped. i was pissed and getting a little sarcastic with this one cop that was being a total prick... almost went to jail
big props to ATL, they definately outdid us this time, i wish i could have went up with the other FLTAs. one of these days i'll get up there... if that island party idea i hear about ever happens, i'm there!
and Phil is right we need a new party house! but we need it in Orlando i'm not going to be able to do 15 hours of driving for a party to often well the good news is i plan to buy a house this summer and partyability will be a consideration.
