Actually if someone could, could they post a sample of what it sounds like.

download the MIDI of your favorite melody and figure out what chords it uses.. it you really know chord progressions and theory, you should be able to do this easily.

I will try that alanzo cause im sure that it will be very good practice. One of my main reasons for posting this thread is that I really have terrible pitch and can't tell notes by sound all that well, let alone 3 or more notes being played at the same time. I know that there are some others that are probably in the same boat as I yet eager to learn.
In the mean time if some nice people could contribute to this for the sake of all us out here that would be great.

Displaced mentioned using alot of Major chord as I understand trance is alomost always in a Minor Key so why would there even be an "I" in the mix.
Displaced could you or someone else expand on that.

Most common progression in modern music is I-IV-V

I'm clueless to the theory and roman numeral's u guys are using. I just like to hear a sample and then go back and look at it in midi. So I know what IM looking at by the hear of it.

Could anyone help on that?

Maybe create a midi file with the chord Prog and a sound byte of that midi?

I'll describe it and let you work it out, you'll learn better if you do it on your own.

I'll stick to the C-Major scale...or A-Minor, whichever, they both ignore the black keys.

A chord: More than one note played at a time. 3-note chords are standard chords. A C chord in the C Major scale is C on top of E on top of G. Just play the root note, skip a key, play the note, skip a key, play the note.

So with Roman numerals, I means the root chord, or in the C Major scale, the C chord. II means the second chord, or the D chord, etc...

I: C + E + G
IV: F + A + C
V: G + B + D

All you do is play those chords in that order.
