recording mixes on PC

i've done a search and i cant find the answer im looking for. I got my rca -> minijack cable and im using sound forge 7, but i cant seem to find the little speaker next to the clock in my system tray, where else might i find it

hmm, not there, got a feeling i deleted it ages ago, i've gone intot the control panel/sound page, and it says i need to install volume control, any ideas

er, make sure you have up to date drivers for your sound card. Chekc out their website for info on that.


then the control panel way should work.
